Dr. Rachel Careccia ,originally from Ohio, moved with her family to Florida while in elementary school. She achieved a bachelor's degree with honors from the University of Florida, where she participated in genetic research and was awarded membership to Phi Beta Kappa. Dr. Careccia earned a medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and was inducted into the medical honor society of Alpha Omega Alpha. During medical school, she became interested in the treatment of chronic cutaneous ulcers and wrote several journal articles on that topic.

After medical school, Dr. Careccia went on to complete both her internship in internal medicine and dermatology residency at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. An additional year of sub-specialization in dermatopathology was accomplished through the fellowship program at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina. Throughout her post-graduate training, she lectured at numerous national professional meetings and continued to publish in her field. Dr. Careccia is board certified in both Dermatology and Dermatopathology by the American Board of Dermatology and the American Board of Dermatopathology, respectively. She holds professional memberships in the American Academy of Dermatology, the International Society of Dermatopathology, the American Society for Dermatopathology and numerous other professional medical societies.

Dr. Careccia is dedicated to excellence in patient care, in both her clinical and dermatology practices. She enjoys treating all dermatologic disorders, and her areas of special interest and expertise include connective tissue diseases, skin cancer, and other medical dermatologic conditions.
